Does the installer just install files?

Tiger Privacy

No, the installer also configures your system to make your mail private. After the installer starts, it verifies that your system has the basic requirements for Tiger Envelopes.

Next, the installer checks your mail client to see if it can automatically configure your system to use private email. If it can, then you will see the message, Ready to install Tiger Envelopes and make your messages private. If you don't see this message, but you see a dialog box to enter an email account, click here.

One Click Install

Be sure to close your mail client before you do anything else in the installer. Unless you're an expert, we strongly advise you to click the Install button. If you do, then the installer will install Tiger Envelopes and completely prepare your system to use Tiger Envelopes. You won't need to answer any more questions or dig out any special configuration details. You can skip the rest of these instructions if you let the installer install now.

Installation for Experts

If you want to manage the configuration yourself and the installer found your email accounts, then add a check mark to the Custom installation for experts box and then click the Next button.

Decide which, if any, of the mail clients you want automatically configured by adding or removing check marks on the next panel. Once you've clicked the Next button again, you'll see a list of email accounts found in the mail clients you checked that the installer identified. You can simply click the Next button again to accept all of the accounts. If you decided to let Tiger Envelopes automatically configure your client(s) for you, then all the accounts initially shown in the list will be configured. Or you can remove any account you don't want Tiger Envelopes to protect and add other email accounts not included in the list.

Remember that if you add any new email accounts or stop Tiger from configuring your client automatically, then you must configure your mail client by hand.

Add Email Accounts Manually

If the installer was unable to find any email accounts it could automatically configure, then you'll see a dialog box that lets you enter details about an email account you want to protect.

Open your mail client and use the settings for the email account to fill in all the data about this email account. It's critical that all the information is an exact match to the settings in your mail client. If you're unsure what to enter into a field in the dialog box, then here's more info.

You can enter as many email accounts as you'd like. You can also add more accounts or modify the settings after you finish the installation with Tiger's control panel.

Click the Next button again when you're finished entering all of your email accounts. You must configure your mail client by hand after the installer finishes.
