"Unable to decrypt" error message

There are a few reasons that Tiger Envelopes may not be able to decrypt a message.

  1. The sender has an old public key for you. Verify your key with the sender. If the keys don't match, update the key. Be sure to verify the new key.
  2. The message wasn't encrypted to you, even if it's addressed to you. Someone may have sent you a message encrypted for someone else. The sender must encrypt the message using your public key.
  3. The message is to you, but you need to configure Tiger to protect that email address.
  4. Your passphrase has changed. Whenever you change your passphrase, you must enter the new passphrase into Tiger's control panel.
