If you installed Tiger using an Envelopes installer, then we strongly recommend that you use the uninstaller. Otherwise, follow these instructions very carefully. The order is critical to get everything fully restored.
If you plan on re-installing Tiger and you want to use the same configuration, then you don't need to uninstall Tiger first. You can simply install the new files and use the existing configuration.
- If Tiger created keys for any of your accounts and it generated passphrases, then you need to save those passphrases if you're going to re-use the same keys in the next installation. Otherwise, skip this step.
- start Tiger's control panel
- move to the Accounts tab
- double click on each account that you want to save the passphrase
- add a check mark to the Show passphrase box and store the passphrase some place safe.
- Delete all the accounts on the Accounts tab.
- Move to the Keys tab.
- Delete any keys that you want Tiger to create during the next installation.
- Move to the Advanced tab.
- Click the Options sub-tab and then click the Stop button.
- Click the Folders sub-tab.
- Make a note of the envelopes data and install folders.
- Exit Tiger's control panel.
- Remove the envelopes data folder.
- Remove the envelopes install folder.
- Restore your account settings in your mail clients to their original settings.
