Another program on your computer may be using the following server and port

Tiger Privacy

Tiger Envelopes uses special ports that may not be used by any other program. When you first install and configure Tiger, the ports are tested to verify there is no conflict.

If you saw the warning, then restart your computer and then start the Tiger Envelopes control panel. Move to the Test tab and click the Start tests button. This will help confirm if there really is a challenge or not. If all the tests are successful, then there's nothing you need to do.

If there are errors, then it's likely that the ports are in use by another program. Check your system or talk with the person who configured your system to see if any of these ports are used by another program:

8025, 8110, 9025, 9100

If you discover there is a conflict, then you can change Tiger's configuration. The following instructions must be done by a computer expert -- a wrong change could leave Tiger Envelopes completely unusable.

  1. Backup options.xml and options.test.xml. The files are located in the Envelopes or .envelopes folder of your home folder.
  2. Backup DixieMail.cfg. This file is located in the DixieMail or .dixiemail folder of your home folder.
  3. Use a plain text editor and only change the lines described
  4. Identify 4 ports that won't conflict with any other program that you run on your system and aren't standard ports
  5. Load options.xml, options.test.xml, and DixieMail.cfg into a plain text editor.
  6. Change PORT="9025" to one of the ports you identified as available.
    • For example, if port 9026 is available, then you'd change the text to PORT="9025".
    • Only options.xml and options.test.xml have matching text.
  7. Change PORT="9110" to one of the other ports you identified as available.
    • Only options.xml and options.test.xml have matching text.
  8. Change PORT="8025" to one of the other ports you identified as available.
    • Only options.test.xml and DixieMail.cfg have matching text.
  9. Change PORT="8110" to one of the other ports you identified as available.
    • Only options.test.xml and DixieMail.cfg have matching text.
  10. Be sure to use a unique port for each of the text replacements.
  11. Save and close the files.
  12. Restart the Tiger Envelopes control panel and run the Tests again.
