Because it's possible for someone to make it look like you downloaded one file when you actually have downloaded another file. And, that other file could be a trojan, or a virus, or spyware.
A file digest is a quick way to check that a file is right.
First, calculate the digests for the file you downloaded on your system. Then, verify that those digests match the ones at Tiger Privacy.
